Jefferson Road Reconstruction, NYSDOT

The design provides for the reconstruction and widening of 8.8. km of 5 lane urban principle arterial highway.  During the scoping phase, the primary focus was analysis of traffic operations within this highly commercialized corridor.  Development of alternatives focused on enhancement of traffic operations, access management and minimizing impact to adjacent properties. Analysis of the major intersections resulted in a number of traffic related improvements including new auxiliary lanes and travel lanes, signal timing optimization, widening, and access management.  The project was progressed in coordination with the Towns, Monroe County, adjacent landowners, and other State agencies through the implementation of a 35 person advisory committee.
