CURRENT EVENTS
The Draft Prenomination Study is in preparation for submittal to the Departments of State and Environmental Conservation.
PAST EVENTS
The Public Outreach portion of the Buffalo Avenue Industrial Corridor Proposed Brownfield Opportunity Area (PBOA) Prenomination Study was concluded on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 with the Community Forum, held at the Planning Board meeting in the Council Chambers. The purpose of the workshop was to gather the insight of local residents and stakeholders on future redevelopment possibilities and directions for the Brownfield Opportunity Area. Nearly 40 people attended the meeting. Excluding the meeting organizers, participants were 52% general public or civic group members, 13% industrial/commercial stakeholders, 30% elected officials/government representatives, and 4% real estate professionals.
The meeting opened with a presentation by Ed Flynn of LaBella that reviewed highlights of previous meetings, summarized the BOA process, reviewed the results of the inventory work on the PBOA to date, and presented the preliminary conceptual plans for the PBOA. Feedback from participants was both positive and constructive.

The Public Outreach portion of the project began on Tuesday, June 26th, 2007 with the Public Project Initiation Meeting. The project was met with a combination of cynicism and hope, with enough of the latter to promise much constructive public participation in the phases ahead.
