Environmental Due Diligence


The goal of the Due Diligence program is to provide the client with a thorough and well thought out due diligence product, conducted to ASTM and USEPA AAI standards, and tailored to the specific needs of the individual property transaction. LaBella recognizes the need for a flexible due diligence approach, that may need to identify and quantify non-ASTM related environmental issues, such as asbestos, lead based paint and lead in drinking water, for residentially utilized or pre-demolition property transactions. LaBella has certified inspectors and an in-house laboratory.




Regulated Building Materials & Environmental Compliance


LaBella has provided inspection, testing, abatement design and monitoring services for more than 25 years. The objective of pre-renovation abatement is to remove asbestos, regulated materials, and universal wastes from work areas prior to reconstruction by other trades, preventing scheduling delays and saving our clients significant cost increases. Experienced project monitors provide rapid regulatory interpretation and guidance when conditions present unique challenges.




Brownfield Programs


The foundation of our program is our staff’s experience with clean-up programs that are tailored to the future use of a property. This experience allows us to utilize a hands-on approach with the regulatory agencies to evaluate the level of clean-up needed at a property and provide solutions that are compatible with our clients’ budgets. In order to take advantage of Brownfield opportunities, releases of liability, grant funding, and/or tax credits, the private participant or municipality must enroll in the appropriate program. LaBella has an excellent working relationship with numerous environmental attorneys and grant writers, and can assemble a project team for seamless entry into the appropriate Brownfield program.




Energy, Utility & Natural Gas


Our energy, utility and natural gas group provides our clients with a range of expertise in wetland delineation and permitting services, as well as erosion and sedimentation control, and wind services. Our environmental wetlands professionals show expertise with all applicable State and Federal guidelines, while our wind team provides land use and comprehensive planning, State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR), the preparation and/or review of environmental documents, specialized technical studies, economic analysis, public meeting planning, and agency coordination. The erosion and sedimentation control design, and monitoring services group provides expertise in SWPPP inspections, storm water management and SPDES compliance.
