Barbara Burke Named AIA’s Emerging Architect of the Year

Congratulations to Barbara Burke, who was named AIA Rochester’s Emerging Architect of the Year. Established in 2009, this award is intended to recognize the efforts of emerging leaders within the chapter who have contributed their time and talent towards the improvement of the architectural community.

Barbara began her career with LaBella seven years ago as a project technician following her graduation from Syracuse University. She quickly gained experience in a variety of project types, and is now a Project Designer, Project Manager and Team Leader.

Barbara serves as chairperson for LaBella’s LINC (LaBella in the Community) committee, coordinating dozens of community outreach activities each year. She also leads Rochester’s ACE Mentorship program, making Barbara one of the first mentors the next generation of architects will learn from. We can’t think of a better ambassador for the profession!

Congratulations, Barbara!
