On Sunday, April 18th, LaBella’s Robert Steen was awarded the 2021 Alfred State Outstanding Young Alumni Award during the virtual 2021 Honors Convocation ceremony. This award recognizes an Alfred State graduate who, within 10 years of graduation, has demonstrated outstanding service to his or her profession, community, and Alfred State.
Since graduating in 2014 with his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Technology, Rob has made many meaningful contributions including:
- Spent a year in Honduras following graduation helping to build a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit “Little Angels of Honduras,” working as a design intern for healthcare based projects, and acting as a community representative.
- New Directions Youth & Family Services Mentor
- Director of Middle & High School Youth Groups and serves on the Guest Experience Team at Fathers House Church
- Helped to develop drawing and documents to assist in receiving funding for much needed renovations to their buildings and programs at the Hornell Area Concern for Youth Center
