Monroe County Crime Lab

The Monroe County Crime Laboratory is a new $30 million, four-story, 45,000 sq. ft. building that houses laboratories and lab offices. The site selection and building design support room for expected growth of the lab. The building architecture and engineering incorporates sustainable design principles, as well as state-of-the-art mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for a modern science lab. The Crime Lab has received LEED Platinum certification.

The new Crime Lab provides high quality scientific analysis of forensic evidence for law enforcement and public safety agencies in eight counties and the City of Rochester. The laboratory is accredited by the American Society of Crime Lab Directors and provides services in the following forensic disciplines:

· Fingerprint/Trace Evidence Analysis

· Firearms & Toolmarks

· Drug Analysis & Fire Debris Analysis

· Evidence Management

· High Sensitivity DNA

· Computer & Document Forensics/Digital Evidence
