Shoreline Trail Pedestrian Bridge Lift
LaBella Associates worked in conjunction with Contour Steel and Union Concrete Construction Corp to design the bridge assembly and erection plan for the Shoreline Trail Pedestrian Bridge, a new pedestrian bridge over the Niagara Section (I-190) of the New York State Thruway. The installation required a 600 ton hydraulic crane with a lifted load in excess of 230,000 pounds.
The new 186 foot long pedestrian bridge will connect to an elevated overlook which will allow commanding views of Lake Erie and the Niagara River, and closer views of the Peace Bridge structure. The bridge is part of the NYSDOT New York Gateway Connections Improvement to the US Peace Bridge Project. LaBella is providing construction engineering support services to both Union Concrete and Contour Steel for the construction of this $56 million project.
