Recapping Our Expanded 2018 Internship Program
This year, we expanded and enhanced our summer intern program, Expedition: Internship! We welcomed 22 interns and added new learning opportunities.
We kicked off the summer with a "Past Interns Panel" breakfast. The panelists were past interns who went on to continue their career at LaBella after graduation. Our new interns learned about the past intern's career paths, challenges they've faced transitioning from the classroom to the office, and what they love about working at LaBella.
Thanks to our past interns: Jennifer Gillen (Environmental), Corey Rothfuss (Buildings Engineering), Barbara Burke (Architecture) and Chris Bayer (Transportation).
Mid-summer we challenged our interns with a scavenger hunt. Three teams were led by Bob Healy (President), Rob Pepe (CFO) and Michele Ebenhoch (Director of HR). The scavenger hunt required the teams to complete challenges within the office and solve riddles leading them to various locations throughout the High Falls area. Teams captured photographic evidence of each challenge, which are displayed in the gallery below.
Congratulations to Team Bob on successfully completing all the challenges first!
Before everyone prepared to transition back to school, we ended the summer program with an "Executives Panel" breakfast. Similar to the Past Interns panel, our leadership team (President Bob Healy, CEO Sergio Esteban, and CFO Rob Pepe) shared their professional stories and answered intern questions. Our interns also recounted their learning opportunities this summer and offered feedback and suggestions for ways to enhance the LaBella internship experience.
We'd like to thank our 2018 interns for their hard work this summer and wish them success this academic year!
