Niagara University Wins Big With Modernized Athletic Center

The LaBella team partnered with CHA companies to design and provide construction administration for an addition and renovation to Niagara University’s dated Kiernan Athletic Center.

The athletic center serves the campus’ athletic teams, intramural sports, and student body’s fitness needs. The 18,000 sq. ft. addition includes a weight room, a spinning studio, and a multi-purpose dance studio, as well as recreation administration and sports medicine offices.

Substantial renovations to the administrative wing reconfigured the space to better suit the needs of the growing university. Additionally, expanding the lobby and cosmetic repairs to the existing space provided opportunities for rebranding and modernization. The scope of work also included finish upgrades to two existing gymnasiums and a new pool filtration.

Kiernan Athletic Center Project Takes Home a Brick x Brick Award!

In July 2023, LaBella was proud to have the addition/renovation project at Niagara University’s Kiernan Athletic Center in Lewiston, NY, receive a Brick x Brick award in the Collegiate category at Buffalo Business First’s 20th Annual Brick x Brick Awards ceremony.

Each year, Buffalo Business First honors the best in real estate, construction, and development in Western New York at its Brick x Brick Awards ceremony, a prestigious event that brings together the commercial real estate industry from developers, architects, engineers, contractors, and more. We are honored to have been recognized at this year’s award ceremony for our role as lead architect on this project.
