This project renovated and expanded the former Finger Lakes Performing Arts Center located at Finger Lakes Community College. The design greatly increased the venues flexibility and ensured that this performing arts center will continue its proud tradition of being a cultural and civic resource to its surrounding communities.
The project scope consisted of increasing the current covered seating capacity from 2,700 to 5,000. It created flanking balconies off of the stage that house 50 VIP corporate box seats. The balcony level also provides new VIP restrooms and catering stations. Additional elements incorporated include new video and sound reinforcement systems, a stage that is larger and re-configured, a gridiron above the stage for dead flying, and a larger loading dock for improved access. Additional support spaces also include creating new back of house areas such as:
• Formal entry
• Offices and additional storage
• Artist/performer green room
• Dressing rooms
• Catering staging and warming kitchen
• Additional restrooms and showers
• Outdoor dining patio
The project also includes an expanded site plaza to provide additional venue vending, improved circulation and accessibility to each level of seating.
