Working with the Rochester Joint Schools Construction Board, LaBella provided full architecture and engineering services for Henry Hudson School 28. Built in 1969, the 85,000 sf existing school contained asbestos and PCB’s, which will be abated during the gut and remodel.
In addition to the all-new interior fit out, the project also includes over 8,000 sf in additions. A new stair tower, main entrace and four classrooms will be added, as well as additional storage space. New energy efficient HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems were installed, and energy efficiency was enhanced with new windows.
The exterior surfaces were cleaned and the roof restored, resulting in renovated, modern school that will serve over 600 kindergarten through eighth-grade students.
