Several members of the Program Management Services team at LaBella Associates recently attended the Project Management Institute’s Rochester Chapter 30th Annual Professional Development Day. The day provided an opportunity for knowledge building as well as time for self-reflection and inspiration.
Ryan Randolph, LEED AP BD+C, Program Coordinator in LaBella’s Program Management division, attended and stated, “I came away with ways to better identify when my project team might be losing momentum, and some new and unique ways to refocus and reenergize them to keep the project progressing at peak performance.” He also took away the need to practice "check-ins" at the beginning of meetings. Asking how everyone is doing to get them engaged and in the moment and finding out if anyone has other "external" items on their mind that may distract them will help keep meetings on track.
Carl Schoenthal, PE added, “We were reminded that successful Project Management is as much about the art and delivery of our client’s projects as it is the application of technical knowledge and experience.”
Project Management Institute (PMI) is the world’s leading not-for-profit professional membership association for the project, program and portfolio management profession.
