Orleans County legislators, LaBella Associates, Redman Construction and County CAO Chuck Nesbitt, formally finished the 2015 Orleans County building season by gathering for a ribbon-cutting celebration for the new Oak Orchard Road bridge. See the news article here with photos of the ceremony.
The Oak Orchard Road crossing, which re-opened at the end of last week, passes over Manning Muckland Creek on the old Route 98 — a vital link for the families that farm in the muck and a shortcut for traffic between eastern Orleans County and Batavia.
LaBella Associates was responsible for design and inspection services for the Oak Orchard Bridge Replacement project , which consisted of demolishing the existing bridge and replacing it with a new precast concrete structure supported on concrete footings. Additional guiderail was installed at all four corners of the bridge for improved safety.
