What is Canstruction? Canstruction is an international competition where architects, engineers, contractors and students compete to design and build giant structures made entirely from full cans of food. LaBella Associates joins other local competitors for this year’s event.
After the exhibit, all proceeds, including the canned goods used in the displays, will be donated to our local Foodlink – a regional food bank serving Allegany, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates counties.
Teams spent all day Saturday, February 27, 2016 creating their structures to go along with the “Bon Appetit!” theme. LaBella was awarded Best Meal and People’s Choice!
LaBella Associates has been involved with the Canstruction program for over 10 years. Each year with help from our LINC (LaBella in the Community) committee, LaBella Associates assembles a team that always goes above and beyond expectations, coming up with fun ideas ranging from dinosaurs, to DeLoreans, to this year’s entry – the “Make Hunger Escar-go-away!” Snail. Our design, made from almost 2,500 cans, LaBella is proud to participate in such a good cause in our Rochester community.
The exhibit will be displayed at the Wintergarden at Legacy Tower (One Bausch & Lomb Place) from Feb 29th through March 11th.
