As of January 1, 2016, New York State law requires that all mold assessors, remediation contractors, or abatement workers hold a valid mold license issued by the New York State Department of Labor. These new regulations were passed in order to establish licensing requirements and minimum work standards to protect both consumers and professionals involved with mold assessment and remediation.
This law applies to “mold projects” which are defined as “mold remediation, mold assessment, or mold abatement of areas greater than ten square feet but does not include routine cleaning or construction, maintenance, repair or demolition of buildings, structures, or fixtures undertaken for purposes other than mold remediation or abatement.”
LaBella is fully licensed in New York State to perform mold assessments and employs certified staff.
