Lead in drinking water concerns have been prevalent over the past several months. We have been working closely with our clients to address these concerns and have received many questions about sampling protocol, regulations, and what happens if and when lead is detected in drinking water.
The USEPA’s 3Ts Technical Guidance Document outlines proper sampling protocol, corrective action, and public communication. Once lead is detected, there are multiple options for remediation ranging from routine flushing of the system to a complete replacement of the plumbing.
The below presentation outlines pertinent regulations and guidance, including sampling procedures, and an overview of potential next steps when lead is found. Click the image to view.
