Mark Gregor, our Manager of Municipal Environmental Programs, was a presenter at this year’s Brownfields Conference, held Dec. 5-7 in Pittsburgh, PA. Cosponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), the National Brownfields Training Conference is the largest gathering of stakeholders focused on cleaning up and reusing formerly utilized commercial and industrial properties.
Mark has attended the conference since its inception. He has more than 32 years of experience in the environmental industry and is well-known, nationally, as an expert in the brownfields program.
Mark’s session, entitled “Municipal Cleanup Innovations & Community Empowerment”, provided an opportunity for Mark to share his unique experience with a local brownfield site, the former Staub’s Dry Cleaners off of E. Main St. Mark and his team at the City of Rochester employed an innovative method to securing cleanup funding and redevelopment of the highly-contaminated site. A specific series of events and a 3-way partnership between the City of Rochester, NYSDEC and the Pike Corporation were required to secure the sale and a BCP agreement. Details are outlined in the presentation. If you’d like to discuss the project and how Mark can help you, please contact him directly at 585.295.6651 or firstname.lastname@example.org..
