LaBella Associates is proud to announce the acquisition of BHNT Architects of Buffalo, NY. The acquisition will be effective June 1st.
BHNT was founded in Buffalo in 1987 by William Hovey and Richard Nardini, who continue to lead the firm with partner Daniel Barton. For the past 31 years under their leadership, BHNT has developed expertise in hospitality, educational, commercial, biotech/pharma manufacturing, healthcare, and mixed-use projects. Their award winning portfolio includes last year’s Buffalo Business First Brick x Brick award winner for Best Collegiate Project, Buffalo State’s Caudell Hall, and Pine Pharmaceuticals, a finalist for this year’s award for Best Manufacturing Project, among other notable Western New York Projects.
All of BHNT’s employees will be retained in the acquisition, bringing LaBella’s Buffalo staff to over 40 professionals. A 9,000 sf expansion of LaBella’s Pearl Street office is underway, making short work of last year’s expansion that doubled the office. LaBella President Robert A. Healy says LaBella’s growth in Buffalo has been a total success for the firm. “Our growth to this point has come organically, a result of our team building community and client partnerships. When the opportunity with BHNT developed, it was clear they are not only talented architects, but also the right fit for our culture of partnership.”
LaBella’s leaders are excited about Buffalo, and BHNT co-founder Richard Nardini, AIA, is excited about LaBella. “Our decision making is always driven by what’s best for our clients and what’s best for our employees,” he says. “Our clients will benefit from LaBella’s resources and full service expertise, without losing their trusted BHNT team. Our employees will join an award-winning culture, and a company with a commitment to excellence and their community.”
