Last Friday, Mitchell Community College broke ground on the new Agribusiness building – the latest addition to their continuing education campus in Statesville, North Carolina. Funded by the 2016 Connect NC state bond, this new construction will provide a multi-functional space for the Agribusiness Systems curriculum while expanding the capabilities of the program. The curriculum is designed to provide the technical and entrepreneurial skills necessary to manage a profitable community-based farm or business. The new facility will contain offices for faculty and staff, a large classroom, and an indoor/outdoor laboratory area that can accommodate tractors and farm equipment for instruction. LaBella is providing full service architecture and engineering for the project.
Construction is expected to be complete before Spring 2019 with the building opening for students for the Fall 2019 semester.
