Established in 2009, the Emerging Architect of the Year award is intended to recognize the efforts of emerging leaders within the AIA Rochester chapter who have contributed their time and talent towards the improvement of the architectural community and have made considerable or unique advances in their professional career.
Nominees were evaluated by a jury based on the level of impact that they have imparted on the architectural community through the facets of contribution to the profession, commitment to the chapter, service and outreach to the community, and advocacy for the profession.
Jessica Kruse, AIA has 8 years of experience and has been with LaBella’s Architecture Division for nearly 6 years. She is a NYS registered architect (2015), has received her Construction Document Technologist (CDT) certification (2013), and is a LEED Green Associate (2011). Jessica serves as Project Architect on a variety of projects throughout New York State and is the primary LEED/Sustainability coordinator for LaBella.
Jessica is also an active volunteer in the community. She has been an ACE Mentor for the past 6 years and has held various board positions, currently serving as the Fundraiser Co-Chair. She is also an active member of the Construction Specification Institute (CSI) Rochester Chapter, currently serving as the Education Chair and Professional Director. In addition she is a member of the Fairport Perinton Partnership Design Committee, AIA Rochester, AIA Explorers Program and LaBella in the Community (LINC).
