What to Expect

It all starts with your goals in mind. To ensure that your time at LaBella contributes to your own personal growth, we’ve implemented tools to help you succeed.

Resources: You’ll receive a handbook before your internship even begins, outlining expectations and serving as a reference for FAQs and professional resources.

Support: You’ll be assigned a mentor, who will cater your experience to your goals, answer questions, provide regular feedback, and ensure that you have diverse and meaningful experiences.

Valuable Experiences: It’s important that your time at LaBella is shaped by more than sitting behind a desk. Your mentor will ensure that you are involved in meetings, site visits, job shadowing, and training, as applicable.

Feedback: Personal growth is often marked by benchmarking, which is why we think it’s important to provide feedback formally at the mid-point and conclusion of your internship. Maintaining open communication creates trust and understanding, and a more successful working relationship.

FAQs

Internship Program Frequently Asked Questions

What will I actually do?

Internships vary between divisions, but generally you will do real work with responsibilities such as drafting and visiting job sites. Our experienced staff will guide and coach you just as they would if you joined us on a permanent basis. As well as finding out how we work, you will also get to know who we are – from the manager who oversees your progress to the employees who work alongside you, to the “buddy” who acts as your informal coach and supporter.

If you complete the internship program successfully, you may be offered a permanent role with us.

Will I be paid?

Yes, all interns will be paid at an hourly rate.

Can I receive college credit?

It may be possible to receive college credit for your internship at LaBella. Check with your academic department for confirmation and further direction – we are happy to complete any forms necessary for you to get college credit!

What does the Intern Experience Program entail?

This program, crafted from past intern feedback, creates meaningful and diverse experiences to ensure that an internship is more than sitting at a desk. These experiences include job site visits, meetings, job shadows, and training, tailored to each intern’s goals. Additionally, the program helps facilitate open conversation and feedback with a dedicated intern manager to ensure that interns can express any questions, concerns, or ambitions, and receive constructive feedback.

You can follow up on the status of your application by emailing LaBella’s Recruiting team at recruiting@labellapc.com.

How many interns do you hire?

The number of interns hired for a given year is approximately 10-20, depending on the needs of LaBella’s managers. We warmly encourage all interested students to apply.

Will I be notified if I am not selected?

We do not send out any notice if you have not been selected. Unfortunately, given that we typically receive a high volume of applications each year, we are only able to acknowledge that your application has been received. If you have applied online, this acknowledgment is sent to you as soon as your application is successfully transmitted.

Do you conduct interviews before accepting applicants into the program?

Yes. We contact select candidates to set up an interview, which may be conducted either in person, via zoom, or over the telephone, depending on your proximity to a LaBella office. We interview all the candidates who will be accepted into the internship program.
