LaBella Associates is developing drawings and specifications to convert an old school building into apartments in Elmira, NY. Our team determined there is space for about 60 new apartments, which will help meet the community’s mid-level housing needs.
A new electric service is required, a new water line for sprinklers will be installed, and asbestos will be removed. Services provided for this project include developing schematic drawings, reviewing codes and determining requirements, conceptual design, and determining electrical capacity.
Dubbed “Center City Apartments,” plans for the former school also include commercial spaces, a fitness center, and a café. Renovations will roll out in phases to allow people to move in before construction is complete. Current projections allow for folks to move in by the late spring or early summer of 2023.
