Rush-Henrietta Central School District – 2018 Capital Improvement Program

Espresso, Anyone?

Rush-Henrietta Central School District’s 2018 Capital Improvement Program included upgrades and renovations at four District buildings, but most students and staff associate this project with the trendy coffee bar added at the high school (and maybe the comfy new auditorium seats as well).

Converting a small student store and neglected study hall into a colorful and lively coffee counter and lounge space has proved to be a very popular decision – and a student business group runs the whole thing! Innovative, mobile “power towers” allow students to recharge their devices from almost anywhere in the lounge space. The wide variety of seating options enable students and staff to talk and collaborate or just take a needed break during the day.

Additional elements of the District’s 2018 Capital Improvement Program included replacing seating and flooring in the high school auditorium, classroom flooring repairs, parking lot reconstruction, roof restoration, replacing a cafeteria freezer and cooler at an elementary school, replacing a gymnasium wall pad, and a new provision for liquid propane fuel at the District’s bus garage.
