CM-6 Natural Gas Pipeline

New CM-6 Natural Gas Pipeline Placed in Service

Since early 2017, LaBella has worked on a large utility company’s CM-6 Article VII project, which involved replacing portions of the existing CM-1 pipelines running between the Town of Caledonia and the Town of Chili with a new, 8.6-mile, 24-inch-diameter CM-6 natural gas pipeline.

Permitting for the project was approved through the Article VII Certification process, which is controlled by New York State’s Public Service Commission. The new pipeline utilizes a single, 60-foot-wide permanent right-of-way along a route that crosses state and county roads, Interstate 90, the Genesee Wyoming Railroad, agricultural fields, wetlands, and commercial and industrial properties. In addition, the project involves the construction of a new, 209-foot dedicated utility bridge across Oatka Creek.

This project received support from multiple disciplines at LaBella, including field construction management, environmental, and engineering services. Each discipline played a critical role in project completion, bringing consistent and solutions-based oversight that was paramount to project success .
