Community priorities – like recreation, traffic, economic development, land use, pedestrian safety, climate change, housing, and disaster recovery – can all be addressed through a comprehensive plan.

At the upcoming Saratoga County Planning & Zoning Conference on February 1st, LaBella Senior Planners Norabelle Greenberger, AICP and Matthew Rogers will discuss the evolution of comprehensive planning and current best practices during their session titled “The Benefits of Comprehensive Planning”.

Session Title: The Benefits of Comprehensive Planning – The Evolution of the Comprehensive Plan & Current Best Practices

Conference Abstract:
Comprehensive planning has innumerable benefits, providing opportunities for communities to address recreation, traffic, economic development, land use, pedestrian safety, climate change, housing, disaster recovery, and a whole host of other issues deemed important to the municipality. This session will discuss how the comprehensive planning process has and continues to evolve, will identify new issues facing communities and how they are being addressed through current best practices, will discuss solutions for maximizing necessary funding for project implementation, and why local planning and zoning board members are integral to the planning process. The session will also discuss how the planning process brings together residents, business owners, volunteers, and people of all ages and backgrounds to help shape and improve their neighborhoods and balance a community’s vision with reality.
