Steve Longway

Director of Buildings Engineering

The diversity of services we offer affords our team members exposure to an incredible variety of projects. Today you are working on turning a major urban highway into tunnel, tomorrow you are working on athletic stadium, and the day after that you are in a massive hydropower plant in the middle of a city. If you are the type of person who likes to understand what makes everything tick, the opportunities here are hard to beat.

Steve joined the LaBella team in 2006 as an Electrical Engineer, supporting a wide variety of Architecture and Infrastructure projects, and eventually serving as the Electrical Engineering Discipline Leader. In 2020, Steve was promoted to the position of Director of Buildings Engineering. He is a Vice President of the company, and serves on the Board of Directors. Steve has also been a key contributor to LaBella’s portfolio of Energy work, including Utility Scale Power, Distributed Generation, and Renewable Energy in many forms.

Steve is a Clarkson grad from the class of ‘99, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of New York, as well as several others. In 2018, Steve was recognized as an “Engineer of Distinction” by the Rochester Engineering Society. He currently serves as the Vice President for the Upstate NY Chapter of the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA), Liberty Region.

Steve resides in Churchville, NY with his wife and two children, enjoys being a Dad, tinkering in his workshop, and being an unreasonably bad golfer.
