Ridgeview Meadows at North Colonie Residential Subdivision

LaBella Completes Wetland Permitting for Residential Subdivision Project

LaBella Associates teamed with a developer to assist in environmental studies and subsequent wetland permitting for a residential subdivision project located on approximately 22 acres in the Town of Colonie, New York. We completed a wetland delineation on the project site to define the extent of federal wetlands on the property to aid the developer in determining the layout for the 22-lot subdivision in coordination with project engineers.

Impacts to federally regulated wetlands (Waters of the United States) were unavoidable, prompting the need for coordination and permitting with the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) for a Nationwide Permit and with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) for a 401 Water Quality Certification.

To receive authorization from USACE, our team also conducted a protected species habitat assessment for the northern long-eared bat (Myotis septentrionalis). We successfully obtained the required wetland permit authorizations for impacts related to the residential subdivision, allowing the project to move forward through the town approval process.
