D&H Rail-Trail Stevens Point Pedestrian Bridge

New Pedestrian Bridge for the D&H Rail-Trail in Susquehanna County

This project involved the permitting, design, bidding, and construction administration of a new prefabricated steel truss pedestrian bridge to allow users of the D&H Rail-Trail to cross Starrucca Creek in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania.

The new bridge was constructed on micropile abutments to account for the poor soil material from which the railroad bed was constructed. Construction work also included side slope and scour restoration with benched riprap, abutment underpinning to ensure the integrity of the original railroad bridge abutments, paving, stormwater, and approach handrail and fencing.
